What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding refers to the actions we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. This includes:
- Providing support to meet children’s needs as soon as problems emerge.
- Protecting children from maltreatment, including online.
- Preventing harm to children’s mental and physical health or development.
- Ensuring children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
